We open a section to talk about a new world, that of homemade rockets.
Surfing the Internet I have come across many types of homemade rockets, many very simple and ingenious; rockets made with matches with water and plastic bottles and other more sophisticated ones where more technology is required.
We have many very simple, creative options that we use to teach children. Do you want a homemade rocket for children? And what also goes off? And what can they do (with your supervision of course? Well, don't miss the links in the section.
You are looking for something more serious ... well, we already have the water rockets. Do you know that they can reach 500 meters in height?
There are DIY rockets that have nothing to envy to one of industrial manufacture. We can find how to make rocket fuel. Really interesting subjects, although they must be treated with care because they can be dangerous subjects.
I love throwing things through the air and I love doing step-by-step tutorials.
Rockets are the expression of high technology. Seeing projects that people do like
I think it's a good section with a lot of things to explore ...
One of the simpler rockets and effective I've seen, and I've seen quite a few ;-) It works by burning some type of aerosol, a deodorant or similar spray, the more flammable the better.
I've put it on my to-do list. But while I decide to do it I leave you with the video. Very very simple. And as soon as we do ours, we hang it up with the improvements we make ;-)
This simple alcohol rocket it has drawn my attention. In the line of very simple rockets to make such as the match rocket or the one for the tea bag. They are games that we can play with our children, always explaining to them the dangers of using fire and taking the necessary measures. Don't do it with them if you think they are going to try it when they are alone or with their friends. You know your children better than anyone else. The benefit of the activity is to generate that curiosity, that fascination, that makes them want to continue learning and experimenting.
Materials
This time we will only need
a plastic bottle,
Burning alcohol, the kind they sell in supermarkets that is tinted blue
a lighter
Procedure
Alcohol is poured into the bottle and we empty it. Then we put it in position and bring the lighter closer to the hole in the plug. So the remnant, the small amount of alcohol that has remained inside on the walls will ignite and push the bottle.
